Spain’s health ministry uses the January price review list to set lower anchors for key molecules before the February reference price update.
The ‘Price review list, 10 January 2026’ confirms new industrial prices for presentations whose funding terms have been revised by the Directorate General for Pharmacy (Dirección General de Cartera Común de Servicios del Sistema Nacional de Salud y Farmacia, DGCF) without changing the national code. For each National Health System (Sistema Nacional de Salud, SNS) presentation, the table gives the new industrial price that will appear in the February 2026 official 'nomenclator' or price list. Many changes concern high‑volume primary‑care products, including several antibiotics such as amoxicillin.
The 10 January list differs from the 5 January voluntary reduction file, which reflect company requests. The price‑review list instead applies mandatory decisions by DGCF, taken under the annual reference‑price order, recent budget rules and article 7.4 of Royal Decree 177/2014 on reference prices and homogeneous groups. These decisions can include alignment with the minimum reference price or removal of temporary protections for specific presentations.
The January 2026 review forms part of a regular sequence of lists released through the SPRAH pricing information platform (Sistema de Precios de Referencia y Agrupaciones Homogéneas, SPRAH). After validation, the revised prices take effect from the date of the February nomenclator and then set both retail and reimbursement prices in community pharmacies and hospitals.
Taken together, the 5 January voluntary reductions and the 10 January mandatory reviews narrow pricing headroom within homogeneous groups. The new anchors will shape which presentations remain commercially viable at group level and where future delistings or pack rationalisations may occur.
